Hi Guys,

can you please tell me how many degrees of advance will come from the Vacuum can on the stock mopar dizzy? Thanks!

Michael

Depends on the vacuum can, IE what it was originally off from. As old as some of these girls are, and with the bad rep of so called "rebuilders" could be nearly anything ever made.

67 273 about 13.5* (distributor degrees) so x2 = 27* at crank

72 318 340 shows 10.5, so 21* at crank

You'll never be able to guess it, there was no spec, and no two motors are identical.

Pull it and look!

Mopar Muscle Mag finally came in useful for something! Double this number for max advance at max ported vacuum.

An estimate can be measured by marking a point on the distributor plate and measuring the deviation that occurs using a mityvac. For example if 1/4" is measured at the outside of distributor, and the circumference is 10 11/16", the advance would be 720 degree times 0.
25 divided by 10.68. About 17 crank degrees.
