I plan on installing the heads on my 273 tommorow. I've read several different articles about adjusting valves. Most talk about adjusting a warm engine. Mine isn't. My question is what measure should I use. Stock 273 commando engine. New pistons and rebuilt heads. New valves.
It's been a long time since I completely rebuilt an engine.
Many thanks

Tadams,
For what its worth My 3'rd 273 build (circa 1972) racing the OMG BIG BLOCK bad asses :D
Street & Track driven 273, --- oil and water cooling system modifications ---
.008 intake , .016 exhaust, worked very well :)
Untill the 'knock' started ? wth ? --- Crack through #3 main saddle

Apologies I digress Tadams,
Stock 273 Commando Engine try .008 INT & .013 EXH. IF THERE IS A TEMP ISSUE increase the Intake
to .011
:D:D
