The issue is not so much the guide but the spring. Good cams take dual springs and the seats get cut for that. If you want to go with ultra high lift stuff you can play with installed hieghts to get pretty muc anything on there. Question is, why would you want to? The ports are all done around .500 lift.
I am going to be running about .475 lift with springs matched to the cam. Just wanted to make sure there was no valve guide height problem with this lift.
Not too hijack, I apologize, but are the 302 heads the same? I have a .480 Lunati and was going to run the crower springs I have that are good for .550. But I know the 273 heads I had did have the valve guides machined. So it is a bonus if I dont need that done on the 302's.
