vanity plates

-
On my 67 Dart about 10 years ago or so I realized the new plates had two numbers(designating the county)a letter then 4 numbers, so I waited for about a month and got "62A 1967", then I went to historical plates and put on a set of 1967 South Dakota plates.
I dream of getting an AAR cuda and getting plates that read "AAR-ON" my first name.

here are some I've seen that were not purposely-ordered "vanity" plates :

SHT 666 ( 1966 GTO )

666 DVL ( 1971 Road Runner )

WDG 340 ( 1968 340 GTS Dart !! )

WON 383 ( 1967 GTS Dart ! )

All of these are California-state-issued plates . No's 1,3 and4 are black with yellow characters ; this style , sequence and colour ran from 1963 - 31.12.69 in Ca. ; No 2 is blue with yellow characters ; "D" = 1971-issue .

First year for personalised plates in Ca was 1970 , when the plates changed colours to blue w/yellow characters . These used to be quite a bit of largesse when it came to choice-of-vanity ; just look at the plate that was on the '64 Impala in Cheech & Chong
( later , in finished form , "Gypsy Rose" ) : "MUFDIVR" = Muff Diver . 100% legit !!

Anyone whom wishes to garner more info regarding Ca plates from the "golden era" , please p.m. me :)

I saw this one on a Jeep. I'm surprised it made it past the censors. You Chicago guys will LOVE this one.:angry7:

I just read in Hagertys magazine where Michigan wanted to raise their fee from 30 for TEN years to 30 each year!

That is exactly what happend here in Ga. It used to be 25 bucks for seven years, then it went to 25 bucks each year. And this year they raised it to 35 per year. That was my breaking point.

I originally wanted 'SRVIVIR' for this 72 D100 I found on a ranch here in Texas. Figured since it was a survivor of sorts, that would be fitting. But the DMV told me that was taken, as well as '72D100'. So in frustration I tried my last name and figured it would be taken as well. To my suprise, "BUTTON" was available and I jumped on it.
