For a 1968 Baracuda Fastback, would the vin tell you if the car was a Formula S? I decoded the vin, and it did not specifically say Formula S.

so from the vin, there is no way to tell if the car is a formula s?
didnt all formula s cars get a sway bar?

Yes you can tell.

If it has a P or H in the vin (5th position in the vin, P=340, H-383) it is a Formulas S (or I should say, the vin is from a Formula S). If it does not have a P or an H in the 5th position of the vin, it is not a Formula S.

And yes..... All 68 Formula S cars did have a front sway bar, but so did some non-Formula S cars.

A sway bar only indicates that it has a sway bar.

You couldn't get a 340 or 383 in a cuda unless it was a formula s package? I thought I have seen some 340 non formula s cudas. Maybe they weren't original.
