Vin stamp pad

I have a 69 340 block. Casting numbers show it as a 69 and it is stamped EW340 (also coded as 69) problem is I can not find any vin numbers on the block.
I thought they were supposed to be just off to the side next to the "EW340" but I can not see anything there.
Am I looking in the wrong place?

Yes you are looking in the wrong place.They are stamp on the right side(passanger side)just above the oil pan rearward of the motor mount.It's a machined section about 3/4 x 1 1/2ish.

Found it!! Thanks guys. Just bought this 69 340 4spd barracuda. Resto project guy said it was matching numbers and it is, yea!!
