looking for a set of 302 heads that have been or can be checked for cracks...seller willing to get them checked.and if they are good I will split the cost...what you got...looking for a complete set of cores..price reasonably as I can get a set already remanufactured for 350.00

What is the cost of a magnafluxing?
Degreasing prep I can handle.

if you can buy a set of reman ones for $350 I think you better, because by the time someone sells you a set and has them checked you'll be into them for a couple hundred and thats if there local to you, any driving and a used set isn't worth it

a set of reman ones will have everything done and ready to bolt on

i hear ya but the company selling dosen't have a good reputation from what i have heard so i'm a little leary..

Got mine there, worked out well for me but I did see all the bad reviews and the BBB reports too. When I got em they looked brand new, just like the pics. Prob as good as any other reman heads.

Found mine on CL. I called and visited all the adverts I'd see for parting out 318's or 318 for sale until I finally found a set. The guy wanted $100 for the complete motor, I offered him $50 for the heads & headers. It worked out, heads checked out fine & resold the headers. It did take an entire summer to find them though, but they are still out there.

Those were 1985 van and pick up heads and yes they are hard to find, thank cash for clunkers.

For what it's worth, they are induction hardened and the seats are not inserts. They are also high nickel castings to boot, making them very strong.

Combined with being used on fuel injection, these heads held up quite well. If you found a set that was used, you'll likely be ok on a visual inspection without paying to have someone do a magnaflux check.
