Hmmm, always something.
I'm "rebuilding" my motor, so I clean the damper, add the red stuff ad press in the sleeve?
Do I need it?
Thanks

only if your balancer has a groove worn where the old seal ran for years.. if it's smooth emory it/clean it up and run it..

Didn't realize i wrote converter... i have my transmission on my mind today :)

I've got some mystery gaskets too - my kit came with what looks like stamped steel intake gaskets - maybe for cast iron intakes - as a bonus I got three of them in the kit.

There's also some unknown round thick gasket kind of shaped like a donut

Is it a felt washer type thing? If so that goes over the crank snout after you get the timing cover on and befor the balancer. I believe it is to keep grit and dirt from getting to the seal
