Washer dropped in Distributor/oil pump hole

a pan gasket set is pennies compared to a full rebuild so i'd pull the pan.

Drag a welding magnet or speaker magnet across the oil pan towards the drain plug hole. If it doesn’t fit thru the hole, put a magnetic drain plug in so it stays put.

So it went down the distributor hole? I would put a magnet down the hole to make sure it is not in the valley. Then I would pull the oil pump drive shaft, if it is hiding in the gear drive, you should see it or it will fall. Then it will end up in the pan. I would just REALLY look to make sure it isn’t in the valley or can get in the pump drive/cam gear. If I was sure of those things, I would never think about it again and I’m a worry wart.
