I am running a stock 340 engine. Should I use a high volume water pump or go to the AC water pump that has a slower volume. Some people say that the AC pump lets the water stay in the rad longer then a high volume pump.

Unless you are running a fancy new radiator it doesn't make much difference. A high volume pump can't push more gpm through a restricted core. It can create more foam if there is any air in the system.
