Water temp goes up with exhaust cutouts

So I had electric cutouts put on my ‘69 Cuda Pro Street and picked it up this morning. Sounds amazing, but I did notice my water temp was running above where it normally runs.

88 degrees and humid. It never got above 185, or so, but I thought it curious. The cutouts are mounted close to the headers, so I wondered if possibly the exhaust gases might be raising the temp. This is a hi po 340 that was a drag car. Thanks

You sure your foot isn't a little "heavier" with open exhaust LOL?

I have to say, it does make me want to pedal faster.

I bet your engine is running leaner making it run hot. Probably not good for it.

Only running at 185, so not too worried, short term. Will try to adjust it. I was more curious than anything. Thanks.
