We did, yesterday. There’s an electric shop next door. It’s beyond rebuildable. It broke the brush mounts right out and they can’t be fixed.Take it to a Rebuilder and have it rebuilt.

Unfortunately I am sad to report, the wonderful old man for which we did all this for, passed away this morning unexpectedly.

At least he got to see the love you all put into the old tractor for him. You done good.Unfortunately I am sad to report, the wonderful old man for which we did all this for, passed away this morning unexpectedly.
Sorry for your loss.So today marks 1 year since this wonderful man suddenly passed away. We have been fighting from behind since to keep his legacy and his farm, but it appears things have begun to settle. We will keep fighting until it’s fully safe for generations to come.
I originally took today off work, afraid of how my emotions would affect me. Then this morning, decided to work anyway, as that’s what my grandfather would have done. And did do. He never let life stop him from progressing with what was needed or wanted. And that’s his legacy to me. So I went to work, probably had the busiest day I have had in recent memory, but it went well.
I have noticed that the nightmares I’ve been having for the last year, started subsiding a month ago. The same dream every night and it is nothing but a flashback to the phone call I got that morning while I was in the hospital with my newborn, from him asking for help. By the time anyone got there, minutes later, it was too late and that haunts me today still. As a veteran, I’ve lost friends, close friends. But I’ve never felt responsible but in this case I do.
anyway, I mention all this for a couple reasons,
One: I want to thank everyone on FABO for the support and shoulder to cry on so to speak over the last 12 months. Plus all the advice.
Two: I want to urge, stress, encourage, brow beat and ultimately beg everyone to get their final wishes in order. My grandfather had an updated will, so that helped. But there was some ambiguity and gaps in the will that caused some greedy extended family to try and claw their way in. Freaking itemize EVERYTHING important to you and EVERYTHING over 100 dollars in value. Include pictures, serial numbers etc and include a written statement as to your thought process. Especially if you have a larger family. While it won’t eliminate the fighting should it come up, it will make it that much harder for anyone to contest. I’m only 35 and I’m working on that right now. So please, plan ahead. Prepare for worst case scenario and just assume people are gonna bicker over the most trivial of stuff.
anyway, thanks again FABO, and to my grandfather, I hope we’re doing what we can to make you smile down on us from up there somewhere in the heavens.
Oh and as of this moment, we’ve been able to secure the Model 60 we overhauled for him! For now.
