We dragged out the old Hot Rod Project Feather Duster after a
period of years living in back of shop. Jon changed the fluids plus replaced
a worn shifter cable. He washed it and to it to LVMS to race maybe for the
last time.

He won the Sportsman Eliminations (11.5 up Full tree)!
Trip/Zip/Perfect .000 in the finals (Foot Braking) and took a .002 strip against the
current point leader (He is Max Wedge Stock Elim Racer).

It was a lovely 112 Degrees and Weather station sitting over 6000+ elevation at
Rattlesnake Raceway (Think Springsteen) Sunday!

We do not race a lot of local races any more or even use our bracket cars very
much these days. Back when we did some years ago = we won about a
dozen track championships. Time/Family and Energy just do not permit it
these days.

I don't see how you can stand those temps! I was out at the track for Sunday TNT yesterday trying to lean things out for summer heat. 95-98 degree temps and humidity in the 65% range. I was dying!

I lost 5 pounds in Three days.

Cheaper than a Gym membership

Steve published about a dozen articles on the build
in Hot Rod that he was the Editor at that time 20+ years ago.
There were several articles in Car Craft as well.

If anyone can research them for us I would love to have copies.

Steve had them for me but he moved and I lost touch with him.

it is 2365 wet and ready to race.

Tubular K member/4 Wheel discs/Glass Front+Doors/Aluminum
Head Mopar Crate engine that was on the cover of "How to Hot
Rod Small Block Mopars around 2000. 2500 Convertor/3:91 gears
and Mild enough to drive across the country.

We put a 600 Carter carb/took timing down to 26 and put a ton of
ballast to slow it down for 11.5 Bracket with legal quiet exhaust
and smog legal. Despite the altitude being 6000 Ft+ and 112 Degrees
outside with a big headwind.

Using the Nitrous that Steve had installed it ran 9.91 @ 131
thru the Mufflers before we were toss out of the track for going
past 10.00 with a full cage. It has a PMR rollbar and chassis but
only legal to that number.

I will sure miss it but I am aging out pretty quickly now!

Outstanding job! Congratulations! If that's your small shop I'll take it! Did you every do any racing up at the old Fremont track south of San Francisco back in the day?
