I evac’ed and recharged the AC, and now when the key is turned on all of the dash gauges sweep across until they’re pegged wide open.
The only thing I did was add freon and turn the AC on.
I recently had the whole instrument cluster out to clean it up and replace bulbs, re-installed it and everything worked perfect for the last month. Has anyone else had this issue?
I’ll include pics of the modded instrument voltage regulator.
Thanks in advance to all you guys for being so helpful.

Well and I was going to say ground the cluster, by employing a dedicated ground pigtail. Other than that, you moved something or shorted something, and damaged the IVR circuit.

When I took the cluster out, this is what it looked like. The previous owner modded it. I don’t know what’s been done internally to the original IVR, but the gauges were working properly

Try the dedicated ground. Some research suggests that without a ground the 7805 passes it's input voltage.

Don't let the gauges peg. You will destroy them.
