welder/welding machine question

-
Ok .... I finally actually looked at my welder, there's a sticker but where the toggle switch would be but a plastic dummy plug in the hole for the toggle switch to switch operation from spool to mig.
I forgot what the sticker on front says (i just looked at it) . What does the toggle switch do? I mean I have to disconnect the wire feeder which is hooked to "+" polarity and replace it with the cable from the spool gun anyway.
The spool gun has a 4 pin plug, I didn't disconnect the plug from my mig gun yet to see if it's the same though it looks to be same diameter as the plug on the spool gun. I'm gonna have to get a small tank of argon anyway. I acquired one years ago (I forgot where) and at the time donated it to the career center welding Dept.
There is a second hole under the small gauge (looks like telephone wire) with nothing in the hole on the face of the welder. Maybe I misunderstood and I do need a kit? I took it as mine being "spool gun ready"
I did go to Miller website and put my serial number in and downloaded that manual
It says nothing about a spool gun at all.
Seems like the one that came with it did but I haven't seen that copy in about 5 years now. I have it somewhere.
BTW my machine is serial number KH 553093
And jeez I need to get the air hose and blow that thing out ....
You’re going to need a retrofit kit to run the spool gun. I’ll see if I can find out which one you need and which spool gun will work.

ok/ Ive done some checking, found out by one of the links here that you guys pointed me to, that the retrofit kit Im gonna need is207642. I see 3 of them from different sellers all around $130 ish. Dont look like that much worth of parts pictured haha The spool gun they show at the link I followed above for this machine is $1500 ish. No way. won't use enough to justify that. Thats also more than I paid for this welder brand new, all those years ago. Big difference between that one and the one I have, is 20 ft vs 10 ft cable. Other than (maybe) US made vs Chinesium (which I hate) but for 1/10 of the price I can deal with the shorter cord.....(remember I got this one 1/2 off) other than that I have no idea what might be difefrent between them. but the price difference is too huge for the limited amount I expect to use this attachment. If I find myself using it more than I anticipate maybe then Ill seek out the more expensive one.
They do show an equivalent spool gun branded Miller instead of Hobart "spoolmate 100"... this is "spoolrunner 100" branded Hobart Im bettin its exactly the same. (hoping)
My sons mother in law works for Bernard Welding, in the office. Shes helped out my son before with welder stuff for his work. . Bernard is also an ITW (Illinois tool works) company just like both Miller and Hobart. Bernard makes stingers and consumables for various welders.... that might be a good lead.
