So I just went to look at a King Cobra 28ft enclosed 2007 trailer and I need help,The asking price is $7500 and it is in pretty good shape,Some scratches on sides (I really don't care) couple little dings (no big deal) it is a all steel trailer and it is wired for 110 with outlet's and ceiling lights,It comes with a built in winch and a few front cabinets (homemade) and the walls and ceilings are the milk house white coverings. Needs all four tires replaced A.S.A.P- but the one thing to me is weird that I really have no knowledge of and here is where I need help--Don't 28ft trailer usually come with three axles????? Also the load limit for the cargo is only 4600 lbs-Doesn't that seem low????? Has dual 5200lb axles on with four wheel brakes--Looking for some knowledge--Thanks Steve

Hi Steve, my 24 ft weighs 5500 lbs empty with no cabinets or anything. They are heavy. Some may have tri-axle but not always in a 28. As long as you can keep your payload within that limit you'll be ok. That's why there's 2 reasons for a light racecar; lighter towing load and faster ET's!!! Sounds like an average trailer to me. Price seems decent considering it's wired and sounds semi finished. Kris

Our 28ft trailer has two 5200lb axles and 16" wheels. The load decal on ours says 5010lb curb weight, and contents not to exceed 4880lb. This was also around the smaller 15" tires that were on a base model. We upgraded to the 16" tire which are rated at 3680 ea at 90psi. Actually our gear, golf cart and race car are well within the rated spec.

I sold our old 24' trailer in 3hrs for 5k. 97 Haulmark Elite II 5200lb axles, wide side door, beaver tail. Faded some from desert life. Harbor freight 3k winch, and basically a bare box as I took all the accessories for our other trailer.
