What’s the exact process to identify a real 66 Formula S Barracuda?

As stated the 150 speedo was simply an option for 1967 through 1969. To confuse matters, Chrysler called this the "rallye gauge cluster". Never mind that aside from the speedometer it looked the same as the regular cluster.
 
I'd have to check the various materials I have collected, as I'm trying to recall if the 150 speedo was a separate option, or came with something else?

Maybe it just came with the trip, while the 120 trip was optional.

Also, I know 67 was a slightly odd year, different parts and pieces and different standard items. Such as the speedo cable was screw on.
 
All I can tell you as I worked in the Detroit/Hamtramck area when these were new and owned quite of few barracuda S's and worked on a lot of them for customers, and from 66 to 69 I never seen a 120 speedo on any of them. But as I said before I seen a lot of variations as the assemble lines would substitute parts not to shut the line down. I do remember my 68 had the trip my 66 no trip and I just can't recall on my 67 or 69. Hopes it helps.

I see on your paper that the 150 speedo could be ordered separately. Only one of mine had the décor package but all had the 150. A lot of what you see could be pre-production and were never produced. I'm not saying I know everything but just telling you my experiences, my friends memories (worked on the lines and the engineers that I use to speak with). Again I don't know everything just trying to help out. Old and still learning ever day!
 
The trip odometer on the 120 speedo was 1967 only (as far as 67-69, can't remember on '66).
 
For all 273 Commando/Charger equipped cars - I always like to just look a the left rear valance for the big cut out. Even looked inside to see if it's been changed/repaired. Will look at 65 and 66 S fender tags later. My Feb built 4sp S car came with the 7 1/4 posi. The first 65 4sp had an 8 3/4 but not sure if had been changed out - got it in 1975.
 
My 65 dart hipo auto had a 7 1/4 and my 66 dart hipo 4 spd had a 7 1/4 but the 66 exhaust came under the bumper no cut out. My 67 273 cuda s had a 150 speedo.
 
Also I still have a IP from a 66 S car with the 150 speedo.

Same for the 66 Formula S, under the bumper. 67 Formula S had the large cut out.
 
Oh - thanks for the info and correction on the 66 cars....the 66 S I got was wrecked hard - so it was stripped and gone.
 
67, 383 S, only year/engine with turn downs and small half round cutouts.

No 4 barrel 273's in 68. Boy we got sidetracked here. The OP has a 66.
 
My Daughter has a 67 Barracuda with the 273 HP 4 Barrel. auto. 120 mph speedo and factory Tac. Not a S car. She bought the car in 1988 and I dont think anything has be changed.
