What 340 piston?

Does anybody know what 340 piston this is? I took it out of my -68 340. Actually cast year -67. There are some numbers inside the piston, B284R and they are .030 over. Thanks! -niklas

If you can clean off the carbon off the top, there may be a number on top.

The Badger # P284 Left and the #P284 Right only have 2 valve reliefs and have a comp dist of 1.824 and are rated at 10.3 comp,

Thank you very much! So I guess that will be an ok compression ratio for a street 340.

i'm thinking that could be too hi unless your cam is carefully selected.

The '68-'70 340s were rated at 10.5:1 ratio by the factory but were actually around 9.5:1 due to large open chamber heads. Compression wise you should be fine esp if you run a hotter than stock cam.
