Good morning....been having a look to see if I can get an answer to this question. Not sure if they are solid stainless steel or if they are chromed....I have some curb rash on one I'd like to attempt to remove but thought I should verify what I am working with beforehand. Any suggestions as to how best to remove? Some are light that would probably buff out with polish...some are deeper and may require some sanding...Thoughts? With thanks.

Most are Stainless unless you have aftermarket Chinese junk. Put a magnet to them
Those are stainless steel, depending upon how bad the rash is, it can be sanded out. Get some 3M wet/dry paper, starting at 320 to 400 grit, take your time taking the marks down. Use increasingly finer paper as you go, until you are satisfied with the results. Use a buffing compound to take out the finest scratches and you should be through.
They are stainless... and with patience can be dollied, ground and polished back to being acceptable. Here's a quick clean up on my Superbird rings before we headed to Talladega in 2019.
