What are you listening to ?

Not the craziest about "This Means War", but I have seen A7X twice in the last 18 months.

I love Hail To The King and Shepard Of Fire, and I really love the two or three albums before this one, which have a slightly different sound.

Lately I've been revisiting Early Smashing Pumpkins- Gish and Siamese Dream.

Not the most cohesive lyrics, but talk about quality song structure and feeling in the music!

Hail To The King and Shepard Of Fire was the reason I began to know and like the band the CD I just got (Sept 1st) for a Birthday gift, is my first CD from A7X, and at the time i logged on "This means War" was playing.....Afterall it does say "What are you listening too ?" so, i took it quite literally! The guitar riffs and drums on the whole CD "Hail to the King" is GREAT!!!!!

The older releases heavier or not? as you mentioned they're slightly different sounding, makes me wonder, as thats how most following of a band is started!

From what I've heard A7X has been through three distinct sound phases.

The earliest material I've heard is rather screamy. It's been played during the "rubber room" type shows.

The second phase has had a LOT of radio play and switches between easy to understand "normal" vocals and some moderate but heavy screamy sections.
Also a more Iron Maiden-y sounding lead guitar.

Afterlife
Nightmare

...are good examples

It's really fun to see both 14 year olds and 60 year olds wearing Iron Maiden shirts at their concerts.
