Picked this up at a swap meet today to use on an engine break in stand I want to build. I know it's a mid 70s truck toploader bell. What diameter flywheel is needed with this? Both my V8s are internally balanced. I am assuming its 11" with 143T

Thanks in advance
Matt

Lord only knows. My book goes to 74 and it's a newer number than that. You'll have to look it up on My Mopar

The '78-'81 truck catalog shows part #3893729 as fitting '78-'80 A-B-D-W-CB models with 318/360 and 11" clutch--1 digit off your casting number, which isn't uncommon.

The same application uses flywheel #2843211, which cross-references to ATP #Z368, LUK #LFW106, and Pioneer #FW326, all of which are 11", 143-tooth flywheels.

Its an 11 inch 143 tooth, I used the same bell on my engine run stand.

Also McLeod sells a flywheel with bolt on weights for different engines.
It most likely will save you money in the future, it you have to run an externally balanced engine.
If you need an oem flywheel for internal balance I have an extra.

Top loader? That's a bellhousing for the NP 435 4 speed transmission. I have one just like it.

If I have a stock 73 stock 318 would it be internally balanced? If not what is needed for use on a run stand? Thanks

Stock '73 318 is internal balanced, 130 tooth flywheel with a 318 bell housing will work with your run stand.

Thanks for the reply. I have a spare automatic housing. Will that flywheel reach the starter if using the automatic 904 case?
Thanks again

All this talk about flywheels and run stands. Here is a way around to use the neutral balance 318 130 tooth flywheel with an external balanced 360 on the engine run stand.
