What did do as a kid to earn money ?

-
I mowed lawns for like 2 bucks each, pushing dad's lawnmower around the subdivision in the SW Chi Burbs. Also some occasional snow shoveling ('67 was a *****).
Moved back to Chi. I did paper delivery b-4 school for almost 3 years. Never will forget. Over a 100 Sun Times and Tribs (81 on Sundays). They cost customers $1.09 a week for either. Did the collecting as well. Tips were better than the pay. Great money for a kid back then.

Bikes were like this one (picture from the net). Sunday also required a bag in addition as papers with the "stuffs" wouldn't all fit in the basket.

First was probably push mowing yards on AF base 12-15. Around 16 was working in tobacco (nasty job) and hay fields (hot dusty job). Also, picking up rocks in fields. That's where I learned to drive "standard" 55 Chevy truck. Best paying was summers helping neighbor "pulling" cleaning oil wells. Came home blackened with oil. Wonder what OSHA would think about that today! Craig
