While replacing my instrument bulbs I found a spring hanging from the emergency brake bracket at the firewall with one end broken off. The e-brake works fine and the vent box is secured. Does anyone know what this spring does and where it attaches? :banghead:

Thx

Thanks!....I guess the broken end hooked over the groove in that tab sticking out. Why is it needed? My e-brake works just fine w/o it.

Your welcome.
I guess it justs helps push the cable back in after release.

Yup, it's just a return spring. But it's a pretty natural motion to push the handle back in on the dash-mounted e-brakes, so likely you won't notice.

Fixed...found a throttle return spring laying around that was almost a perfect match.
