So how about some sound bytes so people can hear what the potential cam they want sounds like.:burnout:
So while this isn't my car or my motor, this is the cam that is in my 340 and should sound like because I'm getting the same exhaust (it took me a while to find some sound bytes for my cam but now I know!!).

Love the car, just wish I wouldn't have cheaped out on the glasspacks. My friends love the exhaust though, since they can hear my car from over a mile away.

There is an old thread somewhere with tons of peoples cars...but here are mine again :D

Lunati 53714LUN – 314 / 322 duration (278 / 286 @ 0.05”) 106 lobe separation

Do you have a longer clip of the engine idling? :D

I like my Summit glasspaks. Not exactly quiet though. But, its a musclecar, its supposed to be loud!

Anyone have a clip of a Lunati 60402? Thanks!

I forgot to say what my cam is and its specs :eek:ops:
I have a Comp Cam core with a Lunati (p/n: 60112) grind on it.
AD: 282/290 (at .050 231/239)
Lift: .535"/.550"
Lobe: 110/106
2400-6200 RPM Range (Requires 2500 stall converter and 3.42 and up gearing).

Anyone have a clip of a Lunati 60402? Thanks!
After searching the net for a while, this as closest I could find. The specs are not exact but would be pretty close to the 60402 so should sound quite similar.

This one is slightly longer, but the sound quality is lower. My camera died and I replaced it (with the same model, because I liked my old one), but the microphone on the replacement camera was crappy at best.

Since then I've got a much better camera, but I can't seem to convince any of my friends to ride shotgun (and hold the camera) for a gear banging video clip :D They all love my car, but they're scared to death of it, and beg me to stay out of the secondaries when I'm driving :D

ONCE one of my friends asked me to stand on it, So I did... Word spread quick and nobody wants me to stand on the throttle anymore :burnout: :D

It's a bit picky when the engine is cold, So I've gotta toy around with the throttle for a few seconds until it's happy. My best friend once described it like this. "Starting your car is like poking a sleeping grizzly with a stick... It moves around a little bit, but you know all hell will break loose when it wakes up" :D

(Oh and some of the gauges weren't hooked up when I shot the video, ignore the oil pressure gauge under the map light/rear defroster switches & hood release)

360.
Solid lift comp cam 260/260 duration @ .050 .555/.555 lift.

Headman headers, 2-1/2" x-pipe going to 2-1/2" thrush non turbos which are flow aster 40 clones, and they have turn downs before the rear axle.

I want to run them out to the back but not until I rework the engine for either a turbo or a supercharger but that won't be for a couple years yet.

That thing idles beautifully! Didn't see and variation on the tach or anything. What size motor? Sb or bb?

It' a very well balanced, blueprinted 11.0-1 360 cubed motor 1978 block.
Pistons are .030 Over.

Has a single plane strip dominator and a modified Holley 870 street avenger with vac secondaries for street ability, and electric choke too.

With a Holley you quite frequently have to play with them to get the idle right during weather temp changes.

This particular morning my cold start yielded a very nice, choppy idle so I figured I would get video to show off the thumping cam sound since once the vehicle warms up it will idle closer to 1000 rpm and you can't hear the lovey thump any longer.

I figure with fuel injection it will have much better manners which I plan on installing with ether a pro charger or similar set up or either a turbo....neither of which will happen any time soon.

My old car, 410 Stroker, Hughes Solid flat tappet .624 Lift 256@50 with 1.6 Rockers TTI Headers and Flow Masters.

Go to about 3 Minutes on the video for some good tunes.
