what HP to expect? BB.

Dare, I gotta tell you, 360s dead on. My buddy has a 13.2 @109 Cuda. I personally ran 14.1 at 100 in the same car...lol. Why? It doesnt hook, and he can't shift that well and its a stick. For me, I stalled it, then missed 2nd, and I can't shift that well any more. There are a ton of cars that are much faster than quick. That's why it's all about mile per hour. It's called "track reality". The track will humble most the first few times. In all honesty, most guys build way more power than they need, because the rest of the combos are so mismatched and not setup that well. When you can't set the car up totally, build in more power...lol.

As far as moparts goes, Eddy is a good guy at heart, and a hell of an engine builder. I havent spoken to him directly, but a friend helped a bit on his last combo(pre predator). But he can't have a discussion because he goes from 0 to asshole in less than 8 seconds too.

thanks for helping me make my point. on a side note.. i swear sometimes my car 60s better on the street then
the crappy lane prep at our local track (thank-god its IHRA affiliated now), well unless the big boys come to
play lol. my old 74SSP would turn 13.7s in the quarter @ 114mph. Damned if I could hear/feel the tires spinning.
that thing was 3700lbs, 440/727/3.55's with 276/60/15 BFG drag radials (old tread design). the only reason why
i found out was when the slicks went on.
as far as Eddie.. like him or hate him.. theres no "in-between"
cheers.

I was just moving my old car (sold it recently) into my buddy's shop to be taken apart... I tried to video it's last burnout as I had built it... It was a concrete elevated pad, and even with water, the damn thing was pushing the front tires and I couldn't spin..lol. (Never had line lock...) I swear it has never stuck as well as it did after sitting for a year or more and being ignored.
Strangely on Eddie, I am an in between..lol. I agree with him in most of the tech, it's the rest of the personna that doesn't suit me. Not the guy at heart or his experience or skill. Just the "Mad Elvis" part...lol

Oh yeah, Sorry Dan... I think the 850 would be a decent carb for it, yes! :D

Ok guys, made a couple changes -

went with the 850 Demon carb, MT ET street drag radials, installed subframe connectors, and am just about ready to order a set of Caltracs. Low 12's looking possible if I can shift well? BTW the EDDy heads I bought are 75cc chambers, with corrected valve job and gasket matched. Zero Deck, 10.5:1 CR.

I dont know what happened to him. But his type are common enough that I dont mis them.

Dan - I think you're doing better. You will make more torque on the 75cc chamber too. I routinely cut them smaller to accomplish what i want. I think you'll have a hard time launching, but in a good way. I also think the power's there to go low 12s if you can shift. I simply cant...lol.

Thanks guys - Just getting an idea of what it may be able to do. Quite frankly, I've never been to the track in my life, so I'm sure I'd make a fool out of myself the first few times out. Should have the car up and running in the next week - then maybe I'll try my hand at the track.

BTW - what do I need to do to be able to take it to the track? I guess at minimum I need a helmut. Any other things that I need to be prepared with?

Thanks again for the help!

You need a helmet that passes SNELL04 standards I think... Maybe a racefr with the current rule book can verify that... Look in the helmet and it will have a SNELL rating on a decal in it. The inspectors look for that decal. You need to have al the safety stuff.. belts, battery hold down, and some sort fo coolant catch can. I used a small soda bottle clamped to the radiator support. Make sure you have 2 throttle return springs, and the carb's original on the shaft doesnt count... And you should not have more than 1' of rubber fuel line anywhere. If it's all on the engine and visible they may flag you for it. Rubber is a connector, not a transporter when it comes to drag racing and fuel lines. Be safe, try to ignore the world around you. I swear if I had to shift it I could make a Fuel Dragster run 12s...
