Got my hood hinges installed. Surface mount hinges are just installed with self tapping screws for mock up right now.

Well, Bonneville World of Speed has been amazing. Couple runs tomorrow yet with my friends car. Still trying to get the licensing to run flat out. Met lots of great people who are now friends. Fever has full set in...

Getting close to being ready for chassis paint. Welding in some tubing under the drivers seat for solid mounting. I want to triangulate the lower door bar to meet at the frame rail at the junction with the upper door bar yet. I want to put in an X under the center console also. I am waiting for a response to whether the "kidney" bar with seat mount I added is sufficient to meet the "seat shall be supported in a way to not allow rearward collapse". Or I will add a vertical plate or tube and just be done with it. Paint will hopefully go on in the next 10 days or so. Fingers crossed.

You’re kickin ***! That looks great from where I’m sitting!

I believe I welded in the last 2 roll cage bars today. Also seam sealed the floor, firewall and trunk. Add some gussets and it will be ready for chassis paint!

it's almost a shame you have to cover up all that excellent work and design with a body...maybe you could hinge it ala funny car

Thanks. There is no way to do that at this point.

For us to believe you we need progress pictures.

Ok fine. I tied the bottom door bars into the rear frame rail also, so both door bars continue for force distribution. I am putting in gussets at most junction points. Larger open corner gussets where they need to be for the rules, and smaller ones in other places.

I admire your work and flexibility you must have!
It is definitely snug. I pay for it each time I have to crawl around in there. If there was ever a time to do this again, it would be a bare chassis on a jig, then skin the body on!

I'd be afraid of getting stuck in there and having to call the wife to get me out. course, with her sense of humor, she would start laughing before calling 911. hopefully, if she laughed loud enough, the neighbors would know Bob needs help and they would call.

Wow! You are a "speed Demon"......
It's all about getting it finished so I can paint the chassis before it gets too cold to paint. Then I can assemble it over winter. Body work can wait for next spring unless it is mild again this winter

Got the chassis painted, well 90%, ran out of paint. I have more that will be here on Wed, so a little more painting this coming Friday.

Well crawling all over thr car this AM, I found some spots i need to address. That's going to set me back...so frustrating

after seeing all this and the talent you have, have you considered building a "dip tank"? then everything would be coated and you could offer the services to others.
