How much is too much for a 70 model std bore 340 block. The same questions for 1970 340 X heads.

What condition? Rebuilt? Dirty but known to be good? I too have an original '70 340, heads, intake & exhaust that I need to move but don't know prices. The engine & heads came with the car but I don't know what may be wrong with them.

A grand or there about I have seen. Sometimes $750 . I would think it is determined on condition, a standard bore is valuable or a fresh overbore second valuable if it is punched out and cant be cleaned up even less etc.

Stock bore 340 blocks around here can fetch $1000

Nothing. I'll come pick it up so you don't throw your back out putting in the recycle bin.

Too much any more. There are some well wishers out there. I saw a complete 69 340 with matching 727 for $5k. It was sitting in the bed of a shitty old truck with a tarp over it. Seen a guy asking $1k for core X-Heads, because we all know how they are better than all the other 340 and 360 heads....

They are NOT worth what some are asking..last 2 I sold $400.00 a piece now I see people asking up to a $1000.00 ..not from me!!

Like said depends on condition. Keep in mind if you dont have the internals they add up also.

68 through 70 standard bore 340 in good rebuildable condition will fetch around 700 to $1000 in my neck of the woods. I realize there's no difference in the early and later model blocks but they do seem to demand a little more money and standard bore well that's icing on the cake. People will spend $500 for a carburetor.

what ever someone will pay i just checked out a 1970 and a 1968 block , i'm going with the 70 as it is the correct year for my car and close on the build date

wait 20 years you'll pick them up for pennies

Why would anyone ever sell a 340? You take them to your Grave with you before you part with them. Screw the next guy. I better get a big Grave. I have 7 of them. :(

How about posting the vin numbers on your 7 blocks? Guys are trying to reunite engines and transmissions back to the original cars they came in. You could help reunite them and make a new friend along with some cash...
