what is it?

i recently aquired this gem. knowns are, pre 71(side plate and shifter rods prove it). also the tail shaft housing only has one shifter mount point. and it is the long shaft. with a splined end(no yoke).what do we have here?

i guess it is safe to say it is an 833. but which one? and out of what? im no four speed guy so i'm trying to figure this out.
