Hole on a bulge...what goes there? What's it for? '67 dodge dart firewall...below the heater hose area...
What is this hole for on the firewall?

That’s where the retaining push pin type button for the inside firewall insulation protrudes.
I have 2 firewalls here, the heat only has the hole on the protrusion.
The ac/heat does not have the hole.

I dice them off almost flush with the firewall. Those things are sharp.
You ain't kiddin they are!
“Hindsight” A little heat and smash the tit flat would work too.

They must have made them that sharp for a reason. Maybe to pierce the insulation without needing a pre formed hole. Ya, ouch!!!

I painted mine red and stuck a big warning sticker next to it.
Californian? Hey, the red paint and warning is just the first step, then all the legislation that eventually ends in having to rework the entire car so it is unusable and doesn't resemble anything like it's original intended purpose....Typical Californian
