i have what i believe is 883 4 speed tranny with overdrive and was wondering if the duster came with that tranny with a slant six.. i bought the tranny and clutch setup out of a 74 duster 4 speed car, it came with the clutch pedals but the motor and bellhousing was missing...

any info on the dusters what came what would help thank you....

also whats a good 4 speed tranny thats common to find that would fit in my 74 duster 318

Find a bell housing that fits the 318. They put the 23 spline 833's behind v8's, the one that's in my /6 duster started its life behind a 318.

Any A-body or F-body 4 speed should fit in the Duster. The B/E body trans will fit but you'll have to make an adapter so the shift linkage is in the right spot.

Go check out slant six.org.

There is a link where you can click and print out all the information chrysler has on all the four speed trannys and cars they fit.

Great information to have.
