What kind of temp sensor is this?

I went to pull the wire out of my temp sensor and it was not a wire! It is actually a tube and a bunch of liquid started spraying out. What type of sensor is this? And can I refill it or do I need to buy a new gauge setup?

Was working fine I just took it off to paint the bay.

Looks like you snapped it off. Time for a new one.

That is a mechanical temp gauge. It is Junk now. To remove one next time you unscrew the small nut out of the large nut.

That isn't a wire, it's a capillary/copper tube. As mentioned it's junk know.
Swap over to electrical temp sensor TS17 and elec gauge. There will be liquid(or was lol) in the copper tube that leads to the old gauge.
