This is the second 8 3/4 I have gotten from Chevy cars. The first was a b body 8 3/4 in a 67 SS Nova and now this narrowed 8 3/4 from a Chevy Vega. The guy I bought it from worked for a formula 1 race team here and did all of the work himself and said he liked the 8 3/4 because it was lighter than everything else available and still had quick a change center.

8-3/4 reads like yourself. Also...
727 & 904's, pinion snubber, S/S springs, big TQ's.
I have seen Chevy vehicles powered by MoPars before as well. Super rare.

A close friend's 53 Chevy, had a 8 3/4 and a Cordoba cross torsion bar k frame under it. the 8 3/4 came out from under a 68 Barracuda, the spring perches were within 1/8 of an inch for the Chevy, and the same spring width. angle was different though. Have seen the Cordoba front suspension under a lot of different street rods.

1983 amc eagle sx4 with a 340 ta 6 pack engine with a 727. Bought the car for 1600 and used the motor for my duster

Seeing anything other then a Leaf spring perch on a Mopar rear end is just to much for me to take.

Well....I found a complete 1970 340 minus the intake....in a hardcore Chevy guys garage....he said it was "junk" and said $50...I hauled it away...good X heads, parts of this engine are breathing life into the 340 in my Valiant...and it continues to beat on Chevy's to this day...love when brand X guys sell MoPar stuff....

Popular in the 70's race cars were Mopar 4 speed trannies in Pontiac's.Also Mopar Dana 60's in Camaro's.
