What part(s) have you let go, only to wish you had kept them not long after?

So I recently sold a flywheel because that i picked up in a free load of parts i got from one of the guys who work for me because I just never expected to come across a 4spd at the right price (free) to justify the possibly of converting my 68 B'cuda ragtop.

As luck would have it, a friend of mine is cleaning out and is giving me a 4spd from the Duster he had wrecked back in the 80s. Bell housing to output shaft.

I’ve learned to never sell engine parts. I had a performer rpm Intake manifold I sold.

A set of RHS/Indy iron heads done up by Brian @IMM.
Hughes roller rockers. A Couple carburetors.
a 340 block. Some floating rods.

That **** belongs on a shelf because ya never know when ya wanna throw together another engine. It’ll save ya some decent coin if ya don’t have to buy all that again.
 
I don't think I could remember all of the items I have sold, traded or given to others that I have wished I had back at some point to create a list.....but if I could it would be a pretty long list.
 
Hemi Crashbox with Liberty gears; 12" wide cop car wheels; spare 4-speed with Hurst Ram Rod shifter; '71 Duster with 440, 727 with manual valve body, 8 3/4 with 3.55 and powerlock, and 6 point cage.

Non-Mopar related: A huge box full of classic Harley parts (Panhead stuff mostly)
 
An early reproduction Max Wedge intake. Looked just like a real deal. Didn't have the casting number or bosses for the coil. I just hope it wasn't some damn rare PRE-production deal.
 
Got rid of an STR-12 base with a custom top. Meh, should have hung onto that one. 273-4 block I dumped in a vacant lot, yeah..should have kept it.
 
If we're going big... the 71 B'cuda ragtop I sold in 89. Originally a 318/auto with AC, PS, PB and a manual top. Cloned to 340/auto with a rallye dash and maintained the AC, PS, PB.
Or the bare bones 383/4spd 69 Road Runner that I bought the day after an put a 440 in.

My original radiator. Back in 1993 I wanted something that didn't leak and didn't care about part numbers. I wish I had it re-cored!
 
I sold a GTX years ago. It had an Edelbrock torquer manifold. I thru in the VERY good condition original 440 intake that I really didn't need to. Car was already sold.
 
A NOS Edelbrock STR-14 with just the 4150 Holley top. I sold it when recovering from my tonsil cancer fight. Sold it for 550.00, I made 350.00 on it. It was painted red-anyone ever run across it?
 
70 440 HP2 standard bore short block, I had it on an engine stand sealed up for about 10 years. A friend & his cousin came by one day, we talked about it & the cousin made me an offer on it. The offer was much more than I had in it, so down the road it went. I got a call from my buddy & he told me his cousin managed to kick the crankshaft & 3 rods out of it two weeks after he got it running in his GTX. Apparently the cousin was a few fries short of a Happy Meal & really enjoyed seeing how high he could wind engines before she scattered them.

Heads from a GT 390 FE engine. Ports were similar to a 427 medium riser I think.

Didn't sell my left leg to buy a 68 GTX vert for 4k back in 86.

The list goes on.
 
For me has been the front fenders, bumpers and trunk lid from my 72 Satellite.
 
I gave a brand new NOS 1945 Carb for a slant six away to someone a few years ago.
At the time I thought I was helping someone out.
Turns out that I was, the new carb helped him to sell the car only for the new owner to pull the slant out and drop a 360 in it.
I asked for the carb back and the owner said he tossed it.
