My 67 Barracuda was originally 4 drum 10" manual brakes. I installed front disc brakes from a 73 Dart and 10"X2.5" rear drums on my new 8 3/4 rear end. I thought I could use the pushrod from my old master cylinder, but the pushrod is some sort of assembly with springs and seals etc. (see pic).

Can the pushrod be removed from this assembly and used? If not, what do I need to get? Can I use one from a power brake MC from a 73+ A-body, or does it have to be from a manual brake car?

If you look at the pic, the middle MC is the one that came out of the car, and the pushrod is next to it that I pulled out.

The top MC is a 73 Dart manual disc/drum MC that I got but probably won't use.

The bottom MC is the one I want to use. It is an aluminum newer style.

Pull the m/c guts off the one. then measure. I think with discs, due to m/c changing, you need a disc manual rod.
Damn poodle all in my lap damn hives get backk laters

All a body m/c pushrods are the same. Pry the rod out of the hole or cut carefully. the rod has a rubber retainer on the end of it that is holding it in the piston(part with spring.)
