What specs for a good gas mileage cam?

What lift and duration is good for a nice cam for a 318 for daily driving?

ISKY and Lunati both make cams for this exact purpose.

Something small. 200 to 210 degrees at .050 would be the max. Best is to call a manufacturer and tell them your application and you want it for fuel mileage and they'll recommend the best for you.

with the .30 over bore, performer intake, and holley 700 i recommend this cam. it will be smooth ideling and still be better than the stock setup. here you go....

The small port heds make better TQ, and get better MPG's using cams close to the same in duration on the INT/EX. IMO.
