I really don't have a use for it other than possibly keeping the lifters if can use them with a different cam.
I don't know much about cams other than what they do and why/how, so can the lifters be used with a different cam?
What would the parameters of the cam need to be?

Or should I just sell the whole kit and get something milder that I can actually use in a driver 318 lightly modded?

It's a MP purple cam and lifter set in new condition, never used and all the lifter boxes are still in their plastic wrapped unopened condition.
Includes instructions and break in lube all in the original box.

Specs are:
Small block Hydraulic flat tappet
.497 lift
288 duration
108 centerline
72 overlap

It is an oval track competition cam.

yeah those lifters can go on any hydraulic cam. what are you gonna want for that cam?

Sell it as is to someone who wants it, that's not a bad cam for a 340 & up,not any
rougher than the 292/.508 plus more mid torque. Don't know what the bleed rate
is either, they were paired by mopar, even tho' the catalog only lists one part#
sold individually.Really not worth mix&matching unless a cam only deal of a lifetime
falls in your lap. I would sell & apply to what I wanted, but just my 2 cents.

cut 1/4 off and...and make it a 3/4 race cam........

What is rpm range of this cam? And what does it say about converter.

This cam could do well with;

10-1 iron head +1 more for aluminum heads
1.6 rockers would be my choice on top of Ported heads
1-3/4 headers
3000 min. Stall With another 500 for a teen.
3.91 gears min.
RPM intake
750 carb

This cam should have a RPM band of approx:
3000-6000+ with a rough idle. According to MP, it's duration at .050 is 288 X .850 = 244. The above is an approximation of how the cam should be handled if not a little more aggressively. It is a race cam so it should be handled as such. If you handle it right, it should deliver well.

I have used this (or the) flat track cam before.
Descriptions/specs are very similar to the banked track cam.
Idles like a lumber jack on crack withdrawals chopping for his next hit. (With OE AVS carb)

You could send it out for a regrind....
Or use it for its nasty idle rhythm
