Hello
currently the front end of my 440 Dart is all apart, I am replacing all the bushings, upper all lower ball joints, I had the steering box rebuilt by firm feel.
I noticed before I started this job that the front end was very stiff.
If I pushed down on the fender, there was no spring, I would almost have to lift the fender back up.
My torsion bars are orange in color, could someone tell me what this means?
My shocks have no labels to identify the manufacturer, but they are very hard to compress.
thank you

Scrape the grease of the very end at the rear of the bar, may be tough to get in there and see but there is a number stamped on the bar, this will tell you what you have.

Do you have a set of calipers so you can measure the diameter of the bars. And when you say they are orange, are they solid orange or do they have orange paint dobs on them?

All Mopar factory bars were black, so if they're orange it's either because somebody painted them orange, or they're not factory bars. Most aftermarket bars are black too.

Best way to identify is the number, calipers aren't that accurate especially if that orange paint is thick.

pull the shocks loose, then push it, bet the shocks are froze.
Torsion bars don't get tired, and not move.
