Whats a "U" head?

I have a set of heads I MAY end up using, 3418915C... and it's stamped "U"

Can someone identify this?? Oh, it's 2.02 head as well...

That is an LA head, '915 casting, some had "X" some had "O" some are "J" also some "U" (i believe). with 2.02" valves. Used on 340's and 360's.

really? I learned something new, I always thought that J and X were the only two heads on the 340 and 360s

U are the same as J....O....Z...


all the heads are basically the same....

Yea... I thought I was drunk or something? I'm like, Thats a "J" really, it just looks like a "U"!!

I learned something new. I never heard of a 360 coming with 2.02 valves.

The 360 didn't come from the factory with 2.02 intake valves. But all open chamber 340/360 head castings were for all practical purposes the same until the late 80's 308 casting which had a much improved exhaust port.

All x heads had 2.02 valves and none were ever factory installed on 360's. There were no factory 2.02 heads installed on 360's.
