It's been a while since I've been on the forums. Haven't had much time in the last few years. So here is what I got....
It's time for me to give up my project car. I need a little help in estimating it's value.
It is a 1964 Plymouth Valiant Barracuda. I am the second owner and it has been in the family since new. I know the full history of the car and have a lot of documents to show. I have the original bill of sale and all plates that have been on the car, including the 1963 California plates.

Here is some information about the car:

It has a rebuilt 360 that was professionally built. It is rated, according to the builder to be at 450 bhp. The engine has not been started yet.

Whats in the 360:
Block: 1976 360 @ .030 over
Heads: New Edelbrock Performer RPM
Intake: New M1, Dual Plane, Square bore flange
Carb: Holly Street Avenger 770 CFM w/electric choke
Crankshaft: Stock
Camshaft: New Comp Cam 292H PP508
Pistons: New Keith Black Hypereutectic
Rockers: Mopar Performance Rocker Arm Kits
Oil Pump: New
Fuel Pump: New Holly Fuel Pump
New Mopar Performance Water Pump
340 HP Exhaust Manifolds
Mopar Performance Electronic Ignition Kit w/Vacuum Advance Distributor (not installed)
New MSD 8.5mm spark plug wires (not installed)
New Lokar Throttle Cable Bracket and Return Spring
New Lokar Braided Stainless Steel Throttle Cable (not installed)
New Lokar 904 Kick Down Kit (not installed)
New B&M Flexplate
Professional Rebuilt 904 with Turbo Action Shift kit #17810 (this also has not been ran yet)
New Torque Converter (Forgot the Stall)
Manual steering box with Flaming River adapter. (Car had power steering)
New Schumacher motor mounts.
New aluminum radiator
New windshield with new gasket and new gasket on back window.
New carpet kit.
New Guages (Tach, Oil, Temp, Voltmeter)
Front Disc Brakes
8 ¾ rear axle with 2.93 open
Mosier modified axles for 4.5" lug pattern
Weld Pro Star wheels
BFG Comp TA's
1.125" Front sway bar
.990" Torsion Bars
Mopar Super Stock leaf springs.(Both Lefts to level car)
Sits a little high in the back. I have custom made brackets to lower the rearend. Not installed
Complete PST poly-graphite bushings kit installed.

There is probably a lot more stuff that I'm just forgetting.

Whats Still Needed:
Dual Exhaust
Battery
Hoses
Brakes need to be cleaned up
Headliner
Upholstery
Car is in primer
Little odds and ends

There is very little rust on the car. It did sit through a hail storm in Colorado. The body needs a little more work before it's straight.
Originally this is a San Francisco car that has resided in Colorado, Virginia and now Oregon. Since my last move from Virginia to Oregon I have not been able to work on it. That means the car has sat now for 4 years.

Any ideas on how much it's worth?

Thanks
Mark

3000-3500 sounds about right to me, probally a little more a few years ago.

I'd sell the car and engine seperate.. Sounds like you have a fortune in that 360... If you sale everything together you are gonna lose your-a$$....

around here it's worth that 3500 as mention. especially if it were in my driveway. my first car was a 64 b'cuda. and i'd LOVE to have one again!

It's worth $1..........I'll be there tomorrow to pick it up.....:-D:-D

srsly, 3000 tops........more if running. jmho

If I were looking to buy I would easily pay $5,000 for it ( if the floors and frame are solid).Sorry I'm not looking to buy right now. I've got to much to do already.Very nice car with great style, are you sure you want to sell?

I still say sell the engine and tranny seperate or keep it for another project.. The first impression when the buyer pulls up is gonna kill ya on it's actual value..

Just last weekend I spotted a guy with a primered 64 Barracuda on a trailer with Montana plates. I pulled in to look it over and started talking to the guy. He had just picked it up in Gehring Nebraska. Complete car wth all trim. The interior was all there, but a mess. Needed a complete re-do. The exterior was fairly straight aside from a few small dents and rust free except for the lower rear quarters, lower left front fender and a few small holes in the spare tire well. The seller kept the rally wheels as he had arranged to sell them to someone else so it was on the stock 13" wheels and tires that could hold air well enough to keep it off the ground. The PO had just completed the install of a 360 with a very mild build, new radiator, the 904 tranny had just been overhauled, new exhaust, new fuel tank and re-wired cleanly with alternator, voltage reg and elec ignition upgrades. The prev. owner had driven it, tuned it after the install and then inherited a running 1927 Willys Overland which distracted him from the Barracuda. The guy I was talking with happened to be passing through Gehring and spotted the car. Having owned one in high school he was interested so stopped to talk. When the owner offered to sell he was shocked. He took it for a drive, returned, and they negotiated a selling price of $7,000. Quite a bit higher that what the other posters have been suggesting but if you find the right guy........ The buyer was pleased as it was just what he wanted and knew he couldn't pick up another car and get it to where this one was for that amount of money. It's all a matter of the right car, the right time and the right buyer.

PS I told him about For A Bodies Only and he said he will check us out for sure. Said he might use the name ALL_TEETH if it's available. So when he appears we can get more of his story.......

Thanks for all your responses. The car is really solid. One rust spot on right rear fender the size of a dime. Frame and floors are 100%. I'm going to try listing it one more time for $4000. If I don't get any interest, I will start parting it out. Hate to do it but I need to get rid of it.
Thanks
Mark
