What's the best way of fixing this?

Hi guys and gals..... looking for Info on the best fix without using lead. All help appreciated... thanks ....DTM

if the welds are still fine, I'd finish cleaning the rust out and smooth it over with some filler with fiberglass strands in it (Duraglass or Dynaglass). then use regular filler for the final coat.

duraglass is what we use love the stuff

try bondo glass. i used this on my 87 5th ave when i replaced the upper windshield channel and it works great, easy to use like regular bondo, but a lot stronger and water resistant
