Whats the diff. between

What is the differance between a Barracuda 69 340 formula S and a 69 340 cuda?
I have the 340 Formula S, and trying to figure out what the Cuda might have had that the Formula S did not have.

For Formula S: 3 emblems and I think the tail panel was black instead of silver.

The hood inserts were deleted in 1969 but 1968 had 340-S 383-S inserts.

The 'Cuda 340 was more stripped down. Bench seat, 4 speed or auto on the column, little option. The S was more upscale. So its more what the Formula S had that the Cuda didnt

The 1969 version of the 383 engine was upgraded to increase power output to 330 bhp (250 kW), and a new trim package called 'Cuda was released. The 'Cuda, based on the Formula S option, was available with either the 340, 383 and new for 1969 the 440 Super Commando V8.

Cuda was tape stripes and fake scoops, set at the rear edge of the hood.
Form S was mechanically the same, just had the "S" emblems.

You could get 340, 383, 440 in either, and they made about equal numbers of both (at least 383 cars).

...don't think you could get notch cuda.

know a guy that had a Factory 440 cuda notch back, copper, black vinyl top & interior, Bought it from eastgate Chrysler Plymouth at Washington Street and kitley Ave in Indianapolis back in '69
