Whats this water pump from?

This is on a buddies car & it just don't seem right & I have never seen 1 like it before. It's cast iron & if he tries to use the std alum pump,his pulleys won't line up. pics attached

I think that stands for Pre Historic-318. Just kidding, I'm thinking that is a replacement pump build by a company other than Mopar?
 
My guess is maybe a marine pump? Doesn't look like a poly or early LA pump with that squared-off shape.
 
My thoughts run to, it might be from an industrial 318 also.
 
Better check which way that motor runs, marine engines can run either way. 4 speeds in reverse..cool!
 
Not early, its on the wrong side, so is the cover. Looks a little like this pump on a BOAT motor
