Wheel date code.
Had a little time this afternoon and was looking at the steel wheels that were on my 69 dart. Here is what I found on all 4 wheels: M with a 9 under it, to the right 6, then to the right of the valve stem a 3, then a 5.5. I think the date code is telling me they are 6/3/69 5.5 wide. Am I reading that right?

M6.....is Motor wheel plant #6,
9.......is for 1969

should be a number to the left of the valve stem (day of the month)
then the 3 is for 3rd month(March)
5.5" wide

These were made in March of '69

Here is photo of one of the wheels. Hope you can read it.

So am understanding this correct? M5 is the plant, the 9 under the M5 is the year of manufacture, what is the 6 to the left of the valve stem and the 3 to the right? The 5.5 is the wheel size. Is it 6/3/69? Or is it 3/6/69?

OK, so your saying in order left to right you read

M5___6___ (valve hole)___3___5.5
9

This is 6/3/69___5.5" wide

I was trying to read the date code on the wheel of my 1967 GTS Dart. What I found was:
MI___1__(valve hole)__X__55
7
What does this mean?
