Here goes another wheel fitment question that will prob be answered by 72blunblu .... I have researched an posted an came to the conclusion with the help of 72blunlue that I needed a 68-70 b body rear an 1/2 offset hangers to fit modern day fr500 wheels but I cant find a housing nearby for the past 6 months an now with everything goin on cancelled carlisle trip, But can get a e body housing near by .... So my question is what kinda backspacing would I need to fit a 18x10 wheel with 275 or even 285 tire on back of 72 duster ... I seen just recently where a member fitted some fr500's on his duster an they look great.. So my questions is do you think these would fit or will I need need backspace ? or can the idea an wait for a b body housing ?

The E body rear is 2.25" wider than the B-body axle most people use. That's 1.125 more backspace you'd need - not many options that I've found for that kind of backspace.
I'm sitting on an E body rear housing too, but luckily found a local 8.75 housing that was for an early B ('65-'67). Based on my math, I'll still need ~7.25" backspace on a 10" wide wheel ('72 dart). Not sure how much wider a duster can go, but for the same overall width it would be 8.375" backspace on a 10" wheel to use an E housing!

An E-body rear is 61-5/8" drum to drum, a 68-70 B rear is 60-1/8". So the E-body is 1.5" wider which means an extra 3/4" backspace on each wheel to keep the wheel in the same place. My 18x10's are pretty much centered in the wheel house on a 68-70 B rear and a 1/2" spring offset with 7" of backspace. So if they were going to stay in the same spot in the wheel house with an E-body rear they'd need 7.75" of backspace.

Those FR500's only have 6.4" of backspace, which isn't enough for even a 68-70 B rear.

This is the one I have saved if I come across a 68-70 housing

Right, those are 18x10s with a +40 offset, which is a 7.07" backspace which would work great with a 68-70 B body housing and a 1/2" spring offset. But the E-body housing would need 7.75", which is more than what you can get with most off the shelf 18x10's.

I had a different approach when I installed an 8 3/4 sure grip from a '70 Challenger into my '65 Valiant. Moved the spring pads to match and traded an A833 four-speed to a friend in exchange for him flaring out the rear wheel wells. Wide Track Now!

Yeah sure if you chop up the quarters and hang the wheels outside the body of the car you can do anything.

With a four-door I paid $125.00 for, it was not a painful decision at all. One observer noted the Valiant now appears to be a cousin of a BMW model.

Would I be able to fit a 275 on the front with this wheel?

18x9 +30 with 73+ disks? Yeah that should work with a 275/35/18. My 18x9's are +35 for my 275/35/18's, but my 13" Doctor Diff brakes add about 5mm to the track per side so that would basically be the same as a +30 on a 73+ disk.

Wow, by what stretch of imagination is that wheel a deep dish?
