wheel weight removal

Any info out there on how to remove the wheel weights off my ralleys?

Are they the bending clamp-style steel weights or the long strips of individual 1 ounce lead bars? The clamp style come off with a carefully held long screwdriver against the back (you may want a fluffy rag for a cushion), and the long strips are just held on with adhesive tape.

They make a special removal tool for the clamp-on style but they'll usually come off with a pair of channel locks. I use a putty knife on the stick-on ones.

Go buy one of these, Wheel Weight Tool KD #3358. Removes, installs, and reshapes the mounting bracket. Works great. I've had mine for about 20 years now.
