Seen that happen about 15 yrs ago on a marine poly 318, it had water in one of the cylinders and locked up, the ring gear split and danced around in the bell housing when the guy tried to start it.

Only seen it one time. Was on an S10 truck still under warranty.

Wow, Never seen one personally, but I've got a torque converter with a cracked one...weird for sure, time to play the lotto
