Looking at a 340 on craigs. Ask what is the casting date? reply 1961?

Worked for a guy many years ago that swore his neighbor had an original 383 hemi super bee with a Muncy 4 speed. Asked him if it had a 6pack, too. LOL. He looked at me like I had 2 heads and informed me the hemi only came with a 4 barrel....... he couldn't even tell I was messing with him.

"440 Hemi" I've heard that one so much I wanna vomit.

I know what's 'supposed' to exist, but when it comes to Mopar, I'd still look into it...

I have a buddy who's uncle is the original owner of a 428Super Cobra Jet 69'Super Bee all factory original.
1 of NONE produced:rofl:
Man I have been waiting to share that one.
Note: I have even argued with him on this and to this day he still swears it's real.

Everyone knows someone that claims to have had an original 68 440 road runner.

Please tell me it has a 3/4 Race cam. (Cash Waiting $$$$$)

It happens even with Mopar people. I bought a 69 A12 roadrunner body from a Oldsmobile guy who advertised it as a hemi car because it had hemi emblems on the hood. I went to look at it after some of my Mopar buddies looked at it and they said it wasn’t a hemi because it was coded as M instead of J. They were so concerned about the J that they missed the fact that it was a 6 barrel car. I bought it cheap because everyone who looked at it told the owner that it wasn’t a hemi car.

For those interested, Ed Winfield was the "father" of the 1/2, 3/4 and full race cams. Read here.

What's a 3/4 Race Cam?

Several companies picked up on the 3/4 cam marketing idea and made cams they marketed as 3/4 cams. Alliance was one. I had one in a 350 Chevy in a Nova a long time ago. I even remember the specs. .480/292 on a 107. It sounded really good through two Thrush beer can header mufflers........and nuthin else. lol Alliance was just one company. Clay Smith Cams was another. I think they still make their version.

My favorite is "a car just like this sold on TV for $70k".......

Reminds me of a guy that came up to me at the dragstrip and told me he built my hemi belvedere, when he worked for Jim Hale . Was quite sure too----------

I work with a guy everytime we start talking about cars he always tells us about his 1969 440 hemi duster!! I swear I'm not making it up!! He is a pathological liar I can't roll my eyes far enough in the back of my head to justify the stupidity that comes out of his mouth sometimes!

And it's those types that stubbornly stick to their story.

No, can't man-up and admit you're wrong. That would be the end of the world.
