I think the holes come already there. This is a pic of my 71 Demon. It does not have pins (wish it had come with them!!) but you can see the hole for them in the pic.

Maybe it was resurrected by new people who will do it right. I wonder what would happen if @Righty Tighty contacted them and asked for a new hood? Perhaps they would do something. It wouldn't hurt to try.
Not a bad idea, but I'm kind of over it at this point.
