Here is what I have 68 Dart 383,4 speed,TTI headers, lakewood bellhousing. The Z bar linkage WILL NOT fit THANKS ALOT TTI....Where can I get a Hydraulic clucth kit for what I have?Kiesler Trans sell a kit for $650. I would like to find a kit cheaper.Anyone have any ideas? Thanks for the help....

I have been thinking about this exact same question for a while now, I think a master and slave off of something like a 95ish firebird would work and the master has a remote resivoir. just a thought

Got the kit.It fits real nice on th transmission nice bracket included. As for the Master cylinder it came with no type of mounting brackets .I have worked on ths foe 3 days and don't really see were there is a good place to mount it.I called Chucks and he said it sould be mounted where the Master cylinder rod will meet the pivot point on the clutch pedal. That looks like it would be next to the brake master cylinder area.Ya right, no flat surface in that area to mount the master cylinder to.I am stuck right now I don't want to hack my firewall and am not crazy about drilling a 1 1/2 inch hole for the master cylinder. There is now way to mount it under the dash like Chuck said was possible. Any ideas guys.... Thanks,Jim

first of all im pretty sure you misunderstood chuck,,but unless he misunderestood your question,,, you can not attach the push rod of the master at the pivot point of the pedal,,there is a ratio that has to be met so you have enough push or efforrt,, on the master ,,if you attach it at the pedal pivot the master will not move much if at all,, i dont have to formula handy at the monment,,but to come up wit hthe correct mounting position on the pedal, you measure the length or the pedal,,and divide by the ratio that should be supplied by the master cylinder instructions,, my master is attached on the clutch pedal,,2 inches down from the pivot of the pedal,,the pivot is where the pedal swings from,,so look up at you pedal,,see the big welded spot where the rod goes thru the brake pedal and in to the bracket that holds the pedal assembly,,

the easiest way to do it is to mount the master where the speedometer cable goes in to the fire wall,, that is the perfect location,,it wil put your master cylinder push rod in the correct location,,as far as pivot ratio,,

you wil have to fab up a bracket to bring the mounting out to the laster push rod,,but that is easy,,, inorder to use the speed ometer cable hole, you wil have to open the hole up so the master fits the hole,, you choose how to do that. i used a tool called a green tool, electricians use them to open up holes in electrical boxes,, the hole i needed and will probably be the same for you is 1 3/8,,then file it smoth so you dotn tear the boot on the back of the master,,,i highly suggest you make a reinforcement plate on the inside of the fire wall or the fire wall will crack ,, mine did,, thing to remember you want the master cylinder push rod to go straight ,, not on an angle,, i am going to take a few pics of my pedal from in side,, to give you an idea of how simple that part is,,and an idea of what you need to do,,e mail me if you have any questions, i too am tossing around the idea of chucks kit,,,

The speedometer cable hole is way to high on my 68 Dart. But near the emergency brake hole looks like it may come out where yours does.My Wilwood hyd. clutch master cylinder will be right on top of the brake master cylinder and my even hit my brake lines. This looks like my only possible option.Do you still have your over center clutch pedal spring under the dash? I really would not recommend this kit from Chucks until he can supply some mounting hardware for the master cylinder and some better instructions.
I was under the impression this would be a hassle free bolt on kit.The E bay discription bolts on in a weekend ya right.
You got to love tti's ,4 speeds ,and big blocks.I am about ready to put manifolds on it.But this would not do my bulit up 383 any good.

some thing doesnt sound right,,your speedo cable should be same place as mine, that is where the master is now,,but if not,,measure 2 inches down from you clutch pedal pivot,,then make a straight line,,use a long screw driver or some thing long and straight,,and go from the 2 inches down pointing towards the fire wall,, make a dent with a punch,,that is where you want the push rod of the clutch master to come thru the fire walll,,,

i do not have the spring on now,, but it has been on for 12 years with a diaphram clutch and this set up,, but i have recently removed it,,every one suggests it,, my problem is this set up has worked ,, for 12 years,,but it has had its drawl backs,, that is why im convering to the type of deal you are trying to do,, but i wont know what unit im going to use til i get it apart,, remove my current unit and reinstal my fork,,that will be after i get back from vacation,, so if i dont answer you,, next week it is because im away,,, you can e mail me and ill get back to you as soon as i return home

but dont over think this it is not as hard as you are thinking it is, look at my pics,, read what i said,, i do not know what the pics and instructions look like that you got with the kit,,so my pics should help you a little,,, if you e mail me i can send you some better pics of another guys pedal and master,, i have saved,, [email protected]

My speedometer cable goes in just above my brake master cylinder. This looks way to high and no way to locate a master cylinder there. It looks to me I can mount the master cylinder next to the brake master cylinder. This would be where my voltage regulator is.It looks like the push rod would come out just under the cross bar on the clutch pedal, right about were yours is.I will give it another try Saturday. Thanks for all the help so far.My E mail is [email protected] Jim

sounds to me like some one moved your speedo cable,,unless that is the correct location for 68, but still sounds weird,, well moving your voltage reg isnt to bad,,but make sure you make a plate to go on the inside of the fire wall to strengthen the fire wall it is thin and wil crack sooner or later if you dont,, remember i wil be out of town from sunday til next thursday,, so if u e mail me thats why i didnt get back to you,,its really not that hard,,i did find a really good pic of the under side of the dash hook up on big block dart . com,, under early A body section, go to www.bigblockdart.com click on early A body scroll down you will se the topic hyd clutch,, good luck let me know how you make out,, and if you have a scanner send me a copy of your instructions of the kit so i know what your doing,,, [email protected]
