Where does the oil go?

I was mowing my yard one day and a lady pulled in my driveway. She was in a Subaru Wagon, and said her "oil light" had just some on. She wanted to know if I could take her to the nearest convenience store. We got in the truck and went to the store where she purchased two bags full of the cheapest oil they had. "Quality Foods" oil.
We got back to the house and I offered to help put the oil in her car, but she assured me she knew what she was doing. I got back on the lawn mower and started mowing. I made my first round, and there were two empty quarts on the ground. I came back around and there were three more. She was now up to five quarts. I stopped her, and she assureed me that anytime the oil light came on she always put 8 quarts in it. I told her it probably was intended for less than 4 quarts. She insisted, and put the rest of the 8 in it and drove away. I could not believe it.
